Short story here about the title of this post.
So we went to a promoter’s meeting a few years ago about the state of nightlife and things that promoters, club owners, djs, media etc had to do to improve the scene and business as a whole.
Now from start to finish ( well until we got bored and left ), there was one guy who seemed to have the answer to it all.
No, not the bible… his holy grail was,
“You’ve got to sell tickets!!!”
I think he said it a million times during the night and it soon became a running joke between myself and business partner Leo.
“How do you save the world? …. You’ve got to sell tickets!!”
Now selling tickets may not be the cure all for everything, but that message as humorous as it was at the time, did stick with us and has helped our business immensely.
At first it was a struggle trying to find a platform to handle ticket sales and of course selling physical tickets had been a chore when trying to meet up with hundreds of people, but a year and a half ago we’ve found a service that has been amazing for us.
That service?
I so happened to run upon this service when another promoter was marketing an event.
Once I took the tour and played around with the platform, setting up events and running my own campaigns, I fell in love with Event Brite.
Now I could do a whole sales pitch and go into detail as to why their service is so great, but then I’d have to get in the whole car salesman mode and I doubt you feel like being pitched today right?
What I would say though is that by far this has been one of my best resources and a lot of our successful events recently have been as a result of utilizing eventbrite.com along with our marketing campaigns.
Their reporting, being able to set up affiliates for events, tracking where sales come from (which is great for finding out if advertising on that list was worth it), not to mention less running around the world trying to sell tickets to a party and much much more, Eventbrite is exceptional.
Amazing stuff really. ( No they did not pay me for this endorsement.)
Seriously, if you’re planning an event, take the crazy guy’s advice, “you’ve got to sell tickets!”… and eventbrite is a great way to do so.
Enjoy,
